FALL 1906 ![]() MOVES: England Fleet St. Petersburg holds Army Finland holds Army Kiel holds Army London holds Army Holland to Belgium - Bounced Fleet North Sea supports Army Holland to Belgium - Bounced Army Ruhr supports Army Munich to Burgundy - Failed Army Wales to Portugal Fleet English Channel convoys Army Wales to Portugal Fleet Mid-Atlantic Ocean convoys Army Wales to Portugal France Fleet Belgium holds Army Picardy supports Belgium to hold Army Burgundy supports Belgium to hold Army Gasconny to Marseilles Army Marseilles to Piedmont Fleet Naples to Rome - Bounced Fleet Tunis holds Italy Army Smyrna to Ankara Fleet Eastern Mediterranean to Smyrna Army Venice to Rome - Bounced Fleet Aegean Sea to Constantinople - Bounced Austria Army Munich holds Army Silesia to Galicia Army Sevastopol holds Army Moscow supports Army Sevastopol to hold Army Ukraine to Rumania Army Budapest supports Army Ukraine to Rumania Army Serbia supports Army Ukraine to Rumania Fleet Ionian Sea to Greece - Bounced Turkey Fleet Constantinople to Bulgaria - Bounced Army Rumania supports Fleet Constantinople to Bulgaria - Failed Army Bulgaria to Greece - Bounced Fleet Black Sea to Armenia AUTOMATIC RETREATS: Army Rumania had nowhere to retreat to, and was consequently destroyed. BUILDS: England and Italy both get to build 1 more unit, in the home supply centre of their choice. Austria and France remain on the same number of units. Turkey has to disband 1 unit. In case some of you are wondering, the Turkish move “Army Rumania supports Fleet Constantinople to Bulgaria” failed because you cannot support an attack against one of your own units. In real life, it just doesn’t make sense! It is now Winter 1906, and many questions remain. Will Turkey recover from their dire situation? Who will Austria target next, after (and if) Turkey is destroyed? Can Italy defend against French attack without losing its foothold in Turkey? Can France successfully expand Eastwards? And will the mighty English Empire ever be defeated? Find out after the break! By the way, the break ends on Monday 2nd November, 22:00 PM, so please send me your builds by this time.

Thanks to everyone for sending in their builds before the deadline. The map now looks like this:
WINTER 1906 ![]() BUILDS: England Build Army in Liverpool Italy Build Fleet in Rome Turkey Disband Fleet Armenia It is now Spring 1907, and the final battle between the few remaining powers draws ever closer. Soon the choice must be made as to whether a draw will be agreed, and peace throughout Europe proclaimed, or if bitter rivalry and betrayal will dominate, and a victory will be achieved through deceitful backstabbing. Please send me your moves by Wednesday 4th November, 22:00 PM. |

Emperor Franz Malcolio I is pleased to announce the formation of the Eighth Coalition, an alliance of the Austro-Hungarian, British and Italian Empires for the common goal of destroying French ambitions on the European continent. The Congress of Vienna also sets out to ensure that once France is no longer a political entity, that peace will reign over the continent.

Well, after a long debate, The French Kingdom has decided to wave the white flag...Hopefully not for naught, but knowing we have back-stabbed al the parties left on the map, I don't see my chances very high of any remorse...

FALL 1907 ![]() MOVES: England Fleet Barents Sea to the Norwegian Sea Army St. Petersburg to Norway Fleet North Sea to Denmark Army Ruhr to Burgundy - Bounced Army Belgium supports Army Ruhr to Burgundy - Cut Army Holland to Ruhr - Bounced Army Wales to Brest - Bounced Fleet English Channel convoys Army Wales to Brest Fleet Mid-Atlantic Ocean to North Africa Army Spain to Gascony Army Portugal to Spain - Bounced France Fleet Picardy to Belgium - Bounced Army Burgundy to Munich - Bounced Army Paris to Brest - Bounced Army Marseilles to Spain - Bounced Army Piedmont to Venice - Bounced Fleet Naples to Rome - Bounced Fleet Tunis to the Tyrrhenian Sea Italy Fleet Smyrna to the Eastern Mediterranean - Bounced Fleet Aegean Sea to Constantinople - Bounced Fleet Rome to Naples - Bounced Army Venice to Piedmont - Bounced Army Constantinople to Ankara Austria Army Munich supports Army Ruhr to Burgundy - Cut Army Livonia to Moscow Army Trieste to Venice Army Tyrolia supports Army Trieste to Venice Army Galicia to Rumania Army Sevastopol to Armenia Army Serbia to Greece Army Bulgaria supports Army Serbia to Greece Fleet Ionian Sea to the Eastern Mediterranean - Bounced Turkey Fleet Black Sea to Constantinople - Bounced Unfortunately for some of you, your units left a supply centre before you captured it. So Spain and Constantinople were not actually captured by a different country, and Turkey continues to cling on to the game. It is now Winter, 1907. In addition to the builds below, Arfmaster needs to choose whether his Army in Venice retreats to Tuscanny or Apulia. (or alternatively, if it is destroyed) BUILDS: Austria has skillfully managed to steal itself 3 more builds this go; the maximum number possible! England has achieved the reasonable result of being able to build one more unit. Due to what seems to be a cross between a miracle and well-formulated tactics, Turkey is able to stay on the same number of units. After a ruthless English invasion, France has to destroy 1 unit. Italy has to destroy 2 units, after a rather malicious Austrian backstab. Please send me your builds by Sunday 8th November, 22:00 PM. As always, the build will end early if I receive everyone’s orders in before the deadline.

Emperor Franz Malcolio I of the Austro-Hungarian Empire regrets having to break the Adriatic Accord that had held his nation so closely to that of the Italian Empire. He feels that the state is undermined by the French invasion into it's heartland, and feels that the Italian rule of it's Turkish possessions was harsh and oppressive.
However, he hopes that the Eighth Coalition will still strive to remove the French aggression from the continent, which still threatens every nation in it. I might be wrong, but I can't see why this move bounced. Last edited by malcolio; 07-11-2009 at 04:44 PM.. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |

I'm now also wondering why the move into Burgundy wasn't successful. The move from the Ruhr to Burgundy was supported by Munich and Belgium, so should have succeeded as Burgundy was not supported in defence. 2 units should not be able to stop 3 units!
The rules as I see it state that support is only cut if the unit giving support is attacked from any province except the one where support is being given. So the attack by Burgundy on Munich wouldn't have cut the support Munich gave, so the move should have succeeded. Sorry for nit picking these things btw, but I'm trying to come up to speed on the rules and looking over what's happened is the only way I'll learn them! ![]() |
