Lenovo's response to anyone who hasn't received a confirmation email after submitting their design idea.

Please re-submit your idea to lenovomodATgmail.com

We understand that you recently submitted an entry for the Lenovo mod building contest. I have checked with our web team and we suspect that your entry was not received and would ask that you please resubmit your idea to directly to us via email to this email account. While we cannot pinpoint exactly why the Fun Factor website entry was not received, we believe it has to do with some entrants uploading files that exceeded the system's parameters.

We apologize for the inconvenience and look forward to reviewing your application and cool idea. Please stay tuned and we will be in touch if you have been selected as a finalist.

Very interesting contest. Some requirements I found when looking for the entry deadline:

Quote:
Once the finalist has confirmed his or her participation and accepted the terms of the Mod Building Contest and provided all the necessary information for the voting portion of the contest, Lenovo will arrangement shipment of the Lenovo PC to be modded to the finalist. Finalists can begin building the mod on October 15, 2010.

Finalist must comply with the following terms:
(a) Complete the mod project on or before December 15, 2010.

(b) Agree to be featured on the Contest website. Feature information can include their name, profile, introduction and background.

(c) Submit photos, videos and description at least once every 15 days detailing the progress during the building period beginning October 15, 2010 to December 15, 2010.

(d) Provide a detailed log of the necessary building expenses and submit them to Lenovo via email for reimbursement. The budget can only be claimed through reimbursement with submission of proof of purchase, receipt or invoice. The allocated budget for each finalist cannot exceed US$2,000. The reimbursement will be processed via wire transfer to a bank account that the finalist provides. Lenovo will process the reimbursement within 30 days of confirmation of receiving the submission.

(e) Accept media interview arranged by Lenovo. Interview schedule and questions will be preapproved by the finalist.
So looks like October 15 is when the contest starts.. but when is the entry deadline? Also, if you get in you have 2 months to complete the mod, so nothing too crazy unless you have lots of time.

I'm curious to see what everyone comes up with. I won't ask you guys to post designs now (since the contest is still going) but maybe give us a sneak peek once the finalists have been selected?
