@Steven_Munn

About that big long post and how WWII would have stopped things like rocket development and space flight. If you consider that the Soviet Union and the US might have become ideologically opposed anyway, the cold war technologies would still have been developed.

Also knowledge is power so I'd get information over money, if you had money you might have just gone bust 3 or 4 years ago a la Nicholas Cage.

Well, this is true in some respects; however one of the catalysts of the Cold War (if I remember rightly) was that USSR and USA were the only two superpowers remaining after WWII. Of course it's probable that technology would have developed itself anyway whether through necessity or not, but we're probably talking about a minimum of 10, 15 year delay.

As they say, necessity is the mother of invention...research into the AA gun was started the day after aircraft were first used in combat rather than observation (it's said). One of the reasons the cold war was, in fact, a cold war is that both sides had nuclear arms. Without advances on both sides (german rocketry, heavy water etc) in WWII, when would nuclear weapon tech have come along?

Assuming that tech lines would have developed anyway, I think that a 10-15 year delay isn't too far away from realistic. While this means that we would of course end up anyway with what we have now, it does mean that right now we'd be typing this on a BBS (I claim purple font) and I'd be working on a PC with a 25mhz processor =D

I agree w/ info over money. Info could of course lead to money but there's no guarantee that as soon as you got rich, your yacht might not explode due to an electrical fault. KA-BLOOEY.

If I had a time machine (that also travelled through the other dimensions too), I'd go zipping around the Universe, seeing things. And then I'd come the late 90's, pick up a few games and return to now so I don't have to buy the games second-hand.

I'm really addicted to Spyro at the moment.
