See, I thought 'Partly Cloudy' was much less funny than their usual shorts (although it had more of a meaning to it and a bit of emotion so if anything I preferred it to their usual stuff).

When I saw Up they didn't show Partly Cloudy. It was at a Dolby 3D rather than real3D cinema, maybe Partly Cloudy wasn't available in Dolby. Even so, would've like to have known beforehand ;C

First time I saw Up! (in France), no Partly Cloudy.
I saw it again last week in an Odeon (not in 3D), and they showed it there. I think it's just down to sheer luck.

I didn't think Partly Cloudy was special. It was cute, and empty, like all pixar shorts, but it lacked a bit of extra charm to me.
UP itself was marvelous, though |

Saw it earlier. It isn't quite their best, but it was easily their most affecting film. I had tears in my eyes more than once, which is pretty damn rare. The bad guy could have been a lot less unambiguously evil, though. I would have thought Pixar could craft a villain consumed by his life's passion without needing to remove any subtlety or empathy by turning him into a gurning would-be child-murderer.

I saw it a little while ago, I couldn't stop crying but I still enjoyed it immensely. I knew what was coming with the grape soda badge but I was in a fresh flood of tears when it actually happened D:
Amazing film though, felt like such a real story. Like someone said, there was no preachy message. I loved the credits too!

Wow, I saw this the other night and I have to admit, I wasn't expecting anywhere near as good as it is. The first ten minutes actually did bring tears to my eyes. My mate put it better than I could: "the most emotionally involving children's film of recent years - in a couple of decades, this film will be talked about the same way as Bambi is now."
I wasn't even that interested in seeing it, but I'm so glad I did. Funny and moving - truly excellent. |

Wasn't as good
I think that UP was pretty shit compared to the other Pixar films, Toy Story is got to be one of the best. CAN'T WAIT FOR TOY STORY 3!!! UP is so over-rated seriously... Whenever a Pixar film comes out, everyone says it is the best movie ever just because it is pixar but there are much better films than UP. Fantastic Mr Fox was actually amazing (It is genius!!) and so much like i thought the film should be.
![]() I suppose UP is quite funny, the little fat kid, but really sad in places too... like when she died almost cried...It made me laugh like fuck when the old men were fighting tho.. hahaha they got stiff!! THEY GOT OWNED BY THEY'RE BACKS!!! Last edited by ..Rawr!..; 14-11-2009 at 09:49 PM.. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |
