Turkey was shite yeah, apart from Barry being randomly crap at overtaking giving us something to watch for five minutes. This weekend is Le Mans though, one of my favourite weekends of the year. Plonk yourself down at 2pm, put Eurosport on the TV, stock up on junk foods and energy drinks, sit there until 2pm Sunday. Result. Then when it finishes the Touring Cars start on ITV4...what a weekend ![]() |

Anyone catch the end of todays MotoGP? One of the best ends to a race I've ever seen, Rossi and Lorenzo passed each other countless times in the last couple laps. Recommend people give it a watch on iPlayer when it gets put up, especially if you're getting a bit bored with F1

By the way guys there might be two F1 series next year.
It's far too boring and complex to go into in detail (even I'm struggling) but basically Max Mosely has set a few rules for the 2010 series that the teams don't like and they're threatening their own breakaway series. This won't end well. Unless it's all wrapped up and a compramise is reached on Friday, anyway... |

Got beefs

I've heard something about F1 effectively tearing itself apart.
Dad's gone to Marshall at Silverstone for the weekend, forgotten what post he said he's on but I'll keep an eye out for him. |

![]() So Michael 'The Stig' Schumacher has made a return out to F1 and Ferarri after Massa's near-fatal accident. Who saw that coming? Well, a few news agencies since they wouldn't let it lie, but I didn't actually expect him to agree to it. As Murray Walker was saying yesterday, what has he got to gain? He has nothing to prove and his reputation to lose. Think, although he's a legend of the sport, it would have been good to give a young lad a chance, This is what reserve drivers are for are they not? That aside, it will be great to see him fight it out with Raikonen, Button and Hamilton.

He's called it off. He fell off a bike last year and still has a neck injury...he wouldn't be able to run a race distance without aggrivating it apparently. Which suggests he knew that all along. Which suggests...publicity stunt. They need to sell some tickets to Spaniards, annoyed that Alonso potentially wasn't racing, anyway. |

Christ's sake, how bad is Luca Badoer that he can come last in a f***ing Ferrari? Especially one that he's been TESTING already?

Every time I've typed his name on other forums I've typed "Bad Driver Luca Badoer" and started a little trend. I would say we should start it here but I doubt Bad Driver Luca Badoer will be around much longer to insult. Ferrari wins, Force fricking India second, Lewis and Jenson out on the first lap... What an odd race that was... |

YES I GOT MAH SWAGGA BACK

In other news, Renault are in a bit of hot water regarding last year's Singapore GP. It's all a bit "conspiracy theorist's wet dream" (a lot like the Belgian GP quali results), but at last year's Singapore GP, Nelson Piquet crashed out on lap 14, forcing the safety car to come out, and forcing pretty much every team except Renault to rethink their fuel strategies. Alonso, who started at the back, did not have to change his strategy, and as all the drivers in front of him pitted, he coasted up to the front of the field, eventually winning the race, during a season where Renault had been nowhere in terms of results, and were on the point of pulling out of 2009.
As I said, I'm not sure if I buy it or not, but it's a hell of a coincidence. Fairly recent news, so this is the only half-decent source I could find on the subject.

Fisichella replaces Bad Driver Luca Badoer for the next 5 races.
What a nice way to ease into retirement, being given a Ferrari. Well I guess a few people get that....but not in the special world of...FORMULA ONE! |

No-one is watching here but:
Renault Cheated in F1 Gp Singapore 2008. Renault Fired Flavio Briatorie and Pat Symonds, the "orchestrators of the plan" apparently. Renaults sentence is a 2 year suspended race ban. Soooo.....Mclaren staff have meeting with Ferrari staff who had Ferrari documents, told him to burn Ferrari documents, meeting leaked, Mclaren thrown out of constructers championship. Renault instruct one of their drivers to deliberately crash potentially putting other racing drivers and marshals at risk to win them a race on pit strategy, slap on the wrist punishment. I'm not one for conspiracy theories etc but the FIA really need to be more consistant with their penalties IMO. In my view what Renault did was much, much worse than what Mclaren did and they got off with it relatively lightly. Oh well, Singapore GP this week. So everyone knows how to fix it now then ![]() |

It Pays To Perv

I hear what you're saying, but in the current environment where Renault would likely not return if given a full suspension, the sport doesn't need that. It needs to keep the big engine names and sponsors in to guarantee the sports future survival (considering Honda went before the season). The protagonists have resigned (Briatore & Symmonds) pretty much finished in motorsport all together. Piquet Jr is pretty much unemployable too.
No one thinks anything but that this incident is appalling, and the fine that goes with them should go some way towards improving safety too.

For all everyone says against F1, its a sport where we've had two different British World champions in as many years...
How Rare. Its all over now though *sniff* Not the best season to be honest (as i always normally skate around the subject, mostly i plain lie). Yeah, great performances from Brawn and Button, but as far as actual racing action went, the dreaded double deck diffuser ruined all that and it was largely decided by pitstops ![]() At least next year re-fuelling is banned and there should be at least 4 and maybe 6 more cars on the grid, which should help bring in some more actual overtaking on track. Don't think I'll bother making a thread though, for obvious reasons! ![]() Enjoy your motorsport in 2010 though! ![]() |
