Darksiders

Not seen a thread around for this so here goes.

I just saw this game advertised on TV and thought it looked pretty awesome.
The website for it can be found at http://www.yourlastdays.com.

It's out in a couple of months and I'm really considering preordering it now. It seems to be based around the typical bread-and-butter RPG, which is by no means a bad thing , and looks to be really well put together.

Anyone else checking this game out?

Just watched all the videos for it ... I have to say, this is one I'm going to be giving a miss. This is going to sound really silly, but I avoid any and every game which features a sword the size and thickness of a person. I like my games to be very slightly more realistic, more along the lines of set in the past; with a bit of magic thrown in. Magic's been such a big part of d&d, rpg etc games now that it doesn't seem at all strange; however a giant sword just pushes the boundaries of how far I can suspend my disbelief and stop myself saying "Oh, come on. He can't carry that. What the hell. It's not even sharp, it's a damn oblong. It's a blunt weapon at best. If he can carry it. Which he can't".

No, no, no, no, no.

So this:

is pretty much the sole reason I'm skipping the game. Well no, I lie ... I'm not keen on the plot or graphics either, I'm too much of a fast-paced game disliker. I'm a wuss.

You play as War? I'd much rather play Death

Also, nothing wrong with big swords! Make more sense than say... healing magic. How do you "heal" someone? I guess they speed up natural regeneration? But glowing light is needed?

Wouldn't video games be boring if everything was realistic?

Yeah, but like I say .. I need to be able to suspend disbelief to get into it. Magic etc has been a part of games for so long that you don't notice it.
