Movember - give up your razor to raise cash to fight prostate cancer.

Y'ello all =)

I am growing a moustache this year for Movember. I have decided to put down my razor for one month (November) and help raise awareness and funds for men's health - specifically prostate cancer.

One man dies every hour of prostate cancer in the UK, more than 35,000 men will be diagnosed this year and prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men in the UK. Facts like these have convinced me I should get involved and I am hoping that you will support me.

I don't actually expect anyone to donate, but I feel some people here may be interested in joining in with this - it's an easy way to raise some cash, and we can all cultivate some pretty amazing face fungus between us, I'm sure. Not having AngryPaul's endurance or talent for moving somewhere fast, this is about as difficult as I can manage!

I apologise for posting this in gen pap, but wasn't sure where else to stick it. And if just one person decides to cultivate their own face farm for the cause, and throws a fiver into the pot for themself ... well, it's all worth it in the end isn't it, for charidee. Ladies get to join in too, becoming a Mo Sista and supporting a friend who may be doing it

Let's face it, every quid raised for prostate cancer goes towards reducing the possibility of us having to go for That meeting with the doctor. You know, the one where he just has the KY and the rubber glove..

Looking at the donation details, the only option I can see other than card/paypal is via cheque which I don't think will help you if your account is smooshed

Also an update - starting to get annoyingly bristly, and 24 days to go to style my 'Mo. For those who might want to donate but maybe not via the website, I've heard that the menswear shop Burtons are going to sell Movember specific gear so you can look stylish and help at the same time =)

Some teachers in my school are taking part too, I donated £10 (with some friends chipping in) partly because my PE teacher has grown a magnificent 70's cop moustache that I've never seen before
