Neil Gaiman
Recently read The Graveyard Book (The Jungle Book in a graveyard), it was a great read, I’m about to start to read Neverwhere but wondered if there’s any other Neil Gaimen fans out there who’d like to share their favourite book/s from Gaimen, so I know what to get after that one

Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett wrote "Good Omens" together, and that is my favourite book of all time.
There was a film talked about in 2005/2006, adapted by Terry Gilliam and starring Johnny Depp & Robin Williams. Sadly will probably never happen now. ![]()

That image really isn't a joke? It looks hilarious.
I'd suggest American Gods, it's a great read about gods in modern day USA. |

The image is someone's dodgy imagining of the film from a discussion group around the subject; but the film itself is pretty well-known among various groups of saddos like me...the script was fully written, just fell through because of a lack of funding. Imagine how much it'd cost now, to have Williams & Depp...

it would have been just as expensive then (well, minus inflation), not like they were unknowns 6 years ago. The film has been in the works since shortly after the book was published, with various studios buying the rights; rewriting the script; then deciding it's too expensive, not the right time, too similar to something else etc etc...
Terry actually said at one point that the difference between him and Neil, is that "Neil doesn't believe it'll be made till he's sitting down in the cinema, whereas Terry doesn't believe it'll be made." back on topic: American Gods is really good, as is the related-but-not-a-sequel Anansi Boys Neverwhere is excellent, lots of London references, but don't need to know about London to enjoy it. Sandman series is good if you enjoy Comics Stardust is a nice alternative-fairytale (much as Graveyard book is an alternative Jungle Book) to be honest anything you see with his name on is generally good, but hopefully this will help you pick your own preferences.
