I thought we should get rid of all the forums except pap and then if we all talked about everything in one forum it would look busier.

It would either create more discussion, or be the nail in the coffin.

Ideas?

Archive them, please. Don't want to lose the forum's history. Also lock and ban megathreads maybe?

One of my actions as admit was to close the "all spam in here" happiness and misery threads. It got people to post in other forums for a while but it reemerged when I hung up the badge.

I suggest that you have one archive subforum with best threads, one active subforum for everything else and you might contemplate a single Ninjas subforum.

Unless there's a hook I don't know that many people will visit though; social media, for all it's ills, seems to have dispersed the crowd. (Apologies for being doom and gloom)

The other thing we have to consider is that Jonti's still footing the bill for this place, I'm sure the traffic has decreased the bandwidth usage but it's hard to know how much payoff there is in this for him.

Lets archive them. Would be a shame to lose such treasure again(as the regular chzbn deletes did).
I'd want to be able to pop in and chat from now and then.
Funny that the forums been quite lively these past days.

It wouldn't change anything, indeed it'd really just make things messier and maybe even change things for the worse. If people want to post, they'll post; doesn't matter where. To bring the forums back to life, the real issue that needs addressing is how we get people back here; I seriously doubt seeing a single forum is going to make anyone jump back and think "well, this forum looks healthy, I'll stick around".

In my opinion, if we do want to make a go of making the forums work, we really need to address the problem, i.e. activity seek ways to inject activity back into them generally, not a put up a fairly blatant façade.
